Husband has UTI

My husband who is 47 has a UTI, which he's a bit weirded out by as he's never had one in his life, or any kind of issue like that. He had a full set of bloods a few weeks ago and everything, including PSA, came back normal. He's in good health, slim and trains regularly. Is this just an age thing? What could suddenly bring on a random UTI in an otherwise healthy older male? xxXx

PS its definitely NOT an STI in case anyone suggests it xxx

Kidney stones?
But if he had full bloods etc then what did the GP suggest as the cause?

Gp just asked him to do a urine sample and said urine sample was suggestive of an infection, so gave him antibiotics.

I don't think it's kidney stones as he's not in pain, just a little burning when he pees.

I'd possibly ask for a kidney scan

My dad had a one off UTI out the blue. He was 60 at the time. Was given antibiotics and it went away but came back a few months later

It was then the dr referred him for a scan and it was kidney cancer

Now - I am not suggesting for a single moment that this is the case with your husband! But I'd want to be sure that it was merely an infection so maybe worth a chat with the GP

Ok, thank you. Worth nothing if it comes back xx

@bookworm1982 doesn't hurt as an option to consider to just put your mind at rest.

My dad was a higher risk for kidney cancer as he was an insulin dependant diabetic
