Vitamin D spray?

Hello, chronic insomniac here. I have bought Better You magnesium oil spray. I haven't given it a proper chance yet. The other day I had built up to 10 sprays for the first time but I felt awful the next day. I'm just about to spray my legs now but it is still itchy and that keeps me awake.

Have you used such a spray and if so did you use the full 10 sprays? Have you noticed a difference?

I want to love this but I don't yet. I did sleep 1hr longer when I used it which is huge for me!

Your title is asking about Vit D but your post is about magnesium.

I use the Better You sprays for Vitamin D (with K2), Vitamin B12 and the Iron and I think they are helping more than the tablet versions. No idea about the magnesium though.

StripyTopBrigade · 29/05/2024 22:42

Oh gosh, I meant magnesium! I'm deficient in something because I'm making so many mistakes! 😳

That's interesting about the sublingual sprays. I am on iron and vit d and I don't think they are making any difference. Might try the sprays.

I've sprayed my legs and now they are itchy as hell. I wonder if I can spray it elsewhere that might be less itchy.

Symptoms of vitamin B12 and folate deficiency anaemia include:

  • problems with memory, understanding and judgment (cognitive changes)

Might be worth taking some Vit Bs for a month or two if you think you are deficient in others. My brain fog is definitely helped with taking those three on a regular basis (as well as other symptoms improving).

EDIT - maybe you are reacting to the carrier. Might be worth experimenting with their bath salts instead.

Oh I think the word you cannot say is the word that starts "gum" to describe jelly format vitamins.

Thethruththewholetruth · 29/05/2024 22:59

I itched with the magnesium spray too and had to give up. I take magnesium glycinate now with zinc and sleep nearly through the night now

LiterallyOnFire · 29/05/2024 22:59

Right, okay.

So I'm recommending the jelly format magnesium OP. Gs. I buy mine online from the place that used to sell only books.

What a very silly set of auto-hide words.

StripyTopBrigade · 29/05/2024 23:12

I've got some b vits I am taking when I remember. I haven't got folate but will look into taking that. Seriously remembering to take things is a problem.

I have figured out what you are saying @LiterallyOnFire buy I can't see what is controversial. I will look into these unmentionable items.

I have not yet started with zinc but that was going to be next on my list.

I'm wondering if it's some slang I don't know about, or maybe you can get (searches for euphemism again) Mary Jane in that format? I seem to think I've heard of that. But what a palaver to recommend some vitamins, eh?

I hope you get it sorted.

I take magnesium glycinate as well. Perimenopause sent my sleep pattern into utter freefall, I saw magnesium glycinate recommended here on MN, so I tried it and now wouldn't be without it.

I did 8 sprays last night and I slept until 7am! I haven't set an alarm for years because I always wake up by 4. I did have quite a tiring day yesterday but I hope this is down to the magnesium. I'm going to try it again tonight. Itchy legs are so horrible but I can cope if I can sleep!

OP posts:
Pixiedust1234 · 31/05/2024 12:37

Did you have another successful night? And has the itchiness decreased as you get used to it? I have my fingers crossed for both.

StripyTopBrigade · 02/06/2024 08:54

The second night wasn't as successful and I was up at 4 again. Yesterday I woke at 3 having not used the spray. I had a really bad day yesterday. I had a day of physical work planned, and I was unable to do it due to excessive tiredness.

I used the magnesium again last night and I woke at 4.45 today which is very good for me.

I will use it again tonight. It's still very itchy.

I'm sure they say that if it's itchy it means you are deficient. Though not sure how much truth there is in that.
You could try putting moisturiser on first to act as a bit of a barrier.
Also make sure you haven't shaved your legs etc as that stings!

StripyTopBrigade · 02/06/2024 09:05

Shaving my legs is definitely off the menu!

That's interesting about the itching and being deficient. I will persevere and hope it subsides.

shams05 · 02/06/2024 09:22

Apply it on the soles of your feet if it's too itchy on your legs.

XiCi · 02/06/2024 09:28

Apparently the more you itch the more deficient you are. It does lessen. I've been rubbing the spray on the bottom of my feet the last few weeks and have been having really deep, restful sleep. Might be worth trying that to stop the itching. Magnesium baths (Epsom salts) also help
