RASH after MMR - is this common?

I look after a 13 month old who had the MMR recently (I came on here for advice after one leg got inflamed after, this got checked and was fine). Since then mindee has been fine in herself most of the time but had slightly sloppy nappies, been a bit pastey looking last couple of days, off her food a bit this week and not sleeping as well but seemed ok last night according to dad.

Anyway, got her up from her nap this afternoon and changed her nappy again and a rash was on her body (from say top of pubic bone area up to her neck, a little behind her ears too). I called mum immediately as I can't ignore a rash, no matter what (for mindees sake). They were glad I'd said something and dad has since collected her and they are taking her or calling the Dr.

We're hoping it's just a reaction to the MMR jab but of course we're not Drs and they weren't told this could happen. Is it normal?

I'm 28 weeks pregnant too - if it's just down to MMR, there's no need to worry right?

DD had a cracking rash about 10-14 days after MMR - so spectacular we took photos Seemed fine apart from that.

DD has a measles type rash - it's a common reaction to the MMR and not contagious.

However, if you are at all concerned that she has something else, please ask her parents to get her checked out by a GP, especially in light of your pregnancy.

That does help as I'm pretty sure it's all to do with MMR. It's just that my own ds and all other mindees I've had from very young (several!) have never had any reaction so this is all new to me! I presume it's self-contained and doesn't mean anything is being passed on to anyone?

Cheers LilRedWG, pretty sure it's nothing to worry about but parents are being on the safe side and are letting me know what GP says. I hate making a fuss but can you imagine IF it WAS something and I hadn't made anything of it, I can just imagine the headlines now!!

Meant to say that after DD's reaction to MMR, Ds breezed through it without even a pimple!

My DD had a few spot about 2 weeks after her mmr. Told by HV this was normal
