Specsavers contact lenses

Has anyone else had an issue with spec savers contact lenses ? I've been in the monthly scheme for years and have a high prescription-9 and -10. When I have the eye test I assume they have the right prescription but then the lenses arrive and they aren't clear at all especially when working on the pc all day at work. Should I change opticians ?

Go back to Specsavers and tell them what you've just said here - there could be other lenses that you can try? I just had a trial for a different lense (same price) and it was much better so they changed my order to the new ones.

Also how long do you wear them? I've been told that I shouldn't wear mine more than eight hours a day so I wear mine in the daytime then switch to glasses when I get home.

I have a high prescription and have been told that I am one strength away from the highest strength that they do so I'm going to get to the point where I can't have them anymore.

How old are you? SInce I’ve hit my 50s I’ve had to tweak my contact lenses quite a bit, it’s not unusual to have vision changes in mid-life with hormonal changes, you can also get dry eyes. Depending on light conditions and font size etc I sometimes have to wear reading glasses over my contacts now (I’m also -9 / -10)

You need to attend for a contact lens check wearing the lenses. Your prescription for glasses and contacts will be quite different given your prescription.

Agree with ..how old are you?
I now need reading glasses over my contact lenses (-6.50 ) ..that started in my early 40s. It's very annoying! I tried their varifocal contact lenses but couldn't get on with them (they compromise both your distance and near vision slightly ) and my eyes are still changing slightly every couple of eye tests.

Had nothing but issues with Specsavers lenses, they're cheap and nasty. I have same prescription as you and I get Air Optix lenses. There's a website called Feel Good Contacts to give you an idea what's out there for our prescription. I'd recommend going to a different opticians and asking for a trail of different lenses.
