Skin causing me to cry. How can I help it?

It's on my hands. I am wearing gloves as much as I can and constantly creaming

I've tried eczema treatments. Loads of hand creams recommended for dry skin

And they're just so cracked and continue to bleed, feel really tight and hurt Sad

I cried this afternoon. Sounds so silly but I'm physically very busy and on the go, and they're just always hurting me

Can anyone recommend anything else? Nothing GP has given is helping yet

So painful poor you. Have you tried wet wrapping them? I don't think it helps long term but it soothes the pain/cracking short term

Hi,

Ok I'm not a dr (obv) but a long time eczema sufferer. That looks like dermatitis rather than eczema.
Have you tried using Nursem cream? They do an intensive repair cream and a hand wash. I suggest starting with the hand wash as I think you have sensitive skin.
But a combo of the hand cream and wash should fix it. Especially where it is.
Oh and don't itch it at all. Leave it alone. Best wishes

could be a few things including psoriasis, it looks exactly like my hands when they first started to do this. It can hurt so much if left untreated so probably best to visit your GP. Dovobet gel (vitamin D) is the only thing I've found that really works during a flare up, relieves the itch and soreness and clears up the unsightly flakes, prescribed after NHS dermatologist referral but get it from the GP on repeat. I also use a blue light wand thingy sometimes. Day to day try E45 psoriasis cream or Cerave moisturising cream.

Sorry OP hit send too soon, that should say visit your GP, mention psoriasis and insist on a referral to dermatology.

There’s a reason eczema cream isn’t working, most likely its something else. My DM assumed she had eczema for years but nothing worked, it was only when I mentioned psoriasis that she found something which cleared it up.

I’m not going to post pictures of my hands but they look exactly like yours in the early stage of a flare up.

Your hand looks like my hands on a good day. I wear gloves for doing most things. I apply a thin layer of hand cream before I put the gloves on. If I'm doing something dirty or wet then I wear nitrile accelerator free gloves (I'm allergic to the accelerators in most gloves) If it's a clean job then I wear cotton gloves.

I have Dermovate cream from the doctors. I find that and Flexitol foot cream good for putting in the deep cracks. I don't use any antibacterial soap or hand sanitiser. My life is a constant battle to stay on top of my hands so that I can use them properly. Hope you find something that works for you.
