I’ve just had my first tooth extraction at 29 years old.

my teeth are in a poor condition, but I am determined to improve my cleaning habits and really look after my teeth from now.

those with nice teeth please can you advise on your dental routine and tips for fighting decay?

I’d recommend visiting a dental hygienist every 6 months. They will advise you probably. In terms of routine morning brush, floss, mouthwash at lunchtime, before bed floss, mouthwash, brush. Clean toothbrush with mouthwash.

Decay and gum disease are caused by biofilm bacteria. Brushing and flossing to meticulously to remove this will lower your risk for both.

Sonicare toothbrush, floss or interdental brushes nightly, fluoride toothpaste. do not miss night time cleaning. Disclosing tablets will help you tweak your technique - the best technique is the one that is most effective.

pop in an extra fluoride mouth rinse during the day.

ALL sugar at mealtimes.

go to the dentist regularly so early disease is spotted and nipped in the bud. visit the hygienist regularly to keep on top of things lurking beneath the gum line.
