17 month old worrying symptoms?

Hi all,
so my 17 month old is at nursery twice a week and as you can imagine the viruses/ infections are never ending. However, since February I have noticed a significant change in him, his stools are still regular but have become very loose, behaviour seems to have taken a turn, clammy during night time even when he feels cool, decreased appetite and constant fevers (I mean at least one bout every week or so) he will often spike a temp of 40 for 2/3 days or so without showing any other signs of illness whatsoever, just go back to being his happy self and then the next week it will happen again. I am at my whits end, I have been to see my GP and mentioned my concerns but either put it down to nursery or teething. I just feel like something is wrong but I don’t know what?
i don’t want to be self diagnosing or unnecessary worrying but can anyone let me know if they have experienced similar symptoms or point me in the right direction as to what these symptoms could be? He’s otherwise thriving- he’s a big boy and a healthy weight, happy and always busy! Thank you :)

If my child was having fevers like that with no other symptoms regularly I know my GP would be referring us to the local children’s hospital to get to the bottom of it, however I’m not in the UK.

You know your child best, push your GP for more.

Has he had anti biotics? It could be bc a gut issue? Or he could literally be fighting viruses off or teething.

Keep going gp if you are worried

Not attempting to diagnose but loose stools, clammy and belly pain is how dh presents if he accidentally has lactose (lactose intolerance came on him later in life).

I'd go back to the GP and ask for a referral to paediatrics.
