Double vision after brain injury

I had a freak riding accident last week - I have no memory of what happened but I hit my head on a stone face first. I was airlifted to hospital where I was kept in for observation as I had a small brain bleed. I was unconscious for a few minutes (no more than 6-7 minutes) but on regaining consciousness I’ve had double vision. Does anyone have any experience of something similar? It’s very frustrating as obviously I can’t drive at the moment but I live very rurally and driving here is pretty essential. DH died very unexpectedly last year - he was only in his 50s - so I no longer have backup.

I’ve been concussed / K’Od from riding accidents too but don’t think double vision happened afterwards. Can you check in with your GP for some advice? Sorry to hear what happened and also about your husband - you’ve had a rough time of it. Hope you feel better soon.

It can take a couple of weeks to recover from concussion but definitely worth checking in with your GP.

Double vision quite common after a head bang.

I've had double vision after a bang on the head in a car accident. I'm afraid it took the best part of 6 months to return to normal and I had regular hospital checks during all that time

I’ve been referred to the local urgent care eye clinic next week so have gone past the GP stage - six months will be disastrous 😩

Sorry for your loss, OP. I hope the eye clinic will sort things out. But, if you have headaches too, it may be an indicator of something more serious, like an aneurysm. If you do get bad headaches, take it seriously and get to the A&E of a large hospital with a neurology centre attached. Just to be sure.
