Pelvic ache when bending over.

I'm 56, last period was July 2022 so now into menopause. For the last 4 months I've felt "twinges" in my vagina, a bit like the feeling you get before starting a period but I never actually start one. Then, recently, I've felt a pulling/ache type sensation across my pelvis when I bend over or if I pick anything heavy up. I've also started to feel it sometimes when I go to the loo either way, especially if I strain. I did also have the odd sharp pain near my right ovary area, only on a couple of occasions and I even wondered if I had appendicitis but this was a coupe of months ago and I no longer get it. When I wake up in the morning I'm absolutely fine, the pelvic ache only starts to come on after a few hours and if I'm sat or lying down I don't feel it at all. I've managed to get a GP appointment this week and fully expect an internal exam etc which I'm nervous and embarrsssed about for two reasons, I'm not sexually active even though I'm married as my husband has a long term serious illness and also, I've put a lot of weight on over the last two years through comfort eating, I'm 5ft 9 and 16st 10. I'm determined to lose weight but feel really embarrassed about the GP seeing how fat I am but I know I really have to go about this pelvic ache problem. Any reassurance greatly received!

That's how my prolapses feel OP.

Might you have a prolapse? The bit that stands out is that the pain goes when you lie down. So does mine.

That said I have very bad prolapses and it took until this point to feel so bad.

I'd go and see GP and ask for an exam.

@Droolylabradors thanks so much for the reply. I don't know much about prolapses? I do have a couple of fibroids that were discovered when I had a trans vaginal ultrasound in 2021 but was told these would shrink with menopause. My stomach is bloated and sometimes my sides ache too.

Oof poor you. Then I'd say it's more likely to be the fibroids? Def one for an emergency visit to the GP.

I should also add I've never been pregnant or given birth, I became a mum through adoption due to my dh's infertility if that makes any difference.

Thanks, I have an appointment for later this week but am terrified about ovarian cancer or cervical cancer.

Well I think you should say all that to a GP. if it were me, I'd be going for an emergency appt ASAP. Post meno pelvic pain is worth getting checked.
