No idea what I'm looking at but bumping a bit for you. Must be freaking you out a bit.

I think you are wise to get a second opinion op and would hold off panicking until you have one.

Hopefully the periodontal clinic will come back to me in the morning with an appointment soon !!!

Although you have lost a lot of bone , particularly from around the top back teeth , you cannot tell from the x Ray whether your gum disease is active or not.

This may have been damage that was done years ago and your increased oral hygiene measures have controlled it well , or it maybe that this is progressive and the bone has been lost relatively quickly .

If your gums are no longer bleeding then that's a good sign and although this x Ray is not ideal for looking there does not seem to be any tartar inbetween the teeth .

As you probably already know gum disease is never cured , it is only ever kept under control , this may be bone loss/gum disease in a stable state . Only a dentist looking at your past and present x rays and your gums can tell you. Hopefully any extra factors like smoking , diabetes are absent or under control. Good luck.

No smoking or diabetes - my teeth were ok and then I had 5 years of back to back fertility treatment and they were just getting worse but financially my treatment was taking first priority ! I have been having hygiene appointments since January and am really on top of all my cleaning regime but my other dentist never made out it was as serious as the dentist today ! He mentioned implants if required !!!! Gums don’t bleed and are pink

Implants can be lost more easily to gum disease than your own teeth . If your gum disease is stable then teeth, even with this degree of bone loss, can last years .
If your gum disease is active then, obviously , teeth won't last as long.

With gum disease the first stage of treatment is exactly what your old dentist has done , which is deep cleaning and showing you how to control your oral health. If you only started treatment in January this is very early days .

Ok thank you, you are calming me down ! I thought it was game over teeth will be gone !!!!! I’ll still book an appointment with this periodontist though and see what they say on the situation !
