Dh and haemorrhoids nightmare

What a week! I’ve been recovering from my groin hernia repair and dh has had a thrombosed haemorrhoid.
He’s suffered w piles for years on and off but this is the worst. The day after my op he went to our local walk-in who said it was an A&E job. He didn’t want to go as it would’ve meant waiting all hours and there was no-one to help me, although his brother would’ve come on way home from work for a bit.
To cut the story short he got an appt through our health insurance with a consultant who said it was a bad one but to take some steps to relieve it and go back in 2 weeks. This was on Sat and today it’s bleeding so he goes back to consultant who gets rid of it but there’s still blood and he was told it’d stop in a few mins after the procedure.
I’ve said to see overnight what happens and he won’t die(!) but if still bleeding early he needs to go to a&e - he’s gone to bed as I said it’s prob best to get their early if he’s gonna go. He’s freaking out a bit tbh.
If anyone has had a similar issue, please advise. What happened with the bleeding/pile etc?

Why not go back to the consultant who looked at it before? That would be most sensible

If it has burst, it will bleed as they are effectively sacks full of blood

I've had 2 of them before and they are agony!

Make sure he's eating a diet that is good for his bowels going forward otherwise it will happen again

@RacingLine - he ended up going to A&e first thing this morning after seeing consultant yesterday evening before I posted. They were really good and have referred him for a colonoscopy as well. Plus they also found a possible abdo hernia.
He said they were much more thorough than the consultant as well.
We eat a very healthy diet plus he’s been given loads of laxatives and stool softeners! Not sure why he’s so prone to piles.

Oh poor him - they are so painful!

Hope he recovers quickly now

When he has the colonoscopy, they can do something while they are doing it to sort out the internal piles and I found that has stopped me getting the thrombosed ones for the time being. The consultant did say it only lasts a certain time then it will happen again but you can go back and have it done multiple times. I think they inject something. Make sure he asks them about this!
