Low grade fever - face feeling hot

Believing8nSanta · 30/04/2024 14:47

I have had around 37.2 for over a month. There are moments it goes down and I find it annoying as my face feels hot. I generally run hotter as I rarely sweat but I don't know how to resolve this.

I believe it maybe work related as on the weekends I'm generally fine and the work week I feel hot.

I have had blood works back in December and all was fine.

I don't know what could this be. If I take paracetamol it won't be better.

Anyone has any advise? I ordered some vitamin b in case its defficiency.

I am also breastfeeding 3 years plus so was thinking might be related to that.

I'm otherwise well have the occasional tummy ache or back pain but nothing out of the ordinary.

I don't even think that 37.2 is classed as a fever is it? I thought normal temp was anything between 36.5 & 37.5 depending on the person

Do you feel unwell? 37.2 is a normal temperature, although on the warmer side. Might it be stress making you feel hot?

Believing8nSanta · 30/04/2024 15:16

Ya, it is within normal range. It is just annoying how hot my face is. Maybe I'm perimeno? Who knows I may just need to get used to it lol

I don't feel unwell. I feel my face and mouth are hot this is it. But I have normal energy levels etc. ... I don't feel great as this is just annoying it's usually combined with cold hands so I feel odd but not unwell.

Is the menopause approaching? Hot face, cold hands and feet were my first "symptoms"

Believing8nSanta · 30/04/2024 15:24

I'm in my late 30s. Is it too early for peri? @BeyondMyWits were you hot for a long periods of time or just minutes?

Late 30s is young, but not unheard of. My face was hot for what seemed like ages at a time, certainly over half an hour, especially at work.

Rosacea? It could be why you are generally fine when not working because stress at work can make rosacea flush. Your skin would be less reactive when relaxed.

Hot or spicy drinks/food can be a trigger, so can alcohol and the sun.

Hey there, a low-grade fever like that for over a month is definitely concerning. While 37.2°C isn't super high, it's certainly outside the normal range and shouldn't be ignored for that long.

It's interesting that you mention feeling hot mainly on weekdays and better on weekends. That could potentially point towards stress being a factor, especially if it's work-related. Stress can definitely mess with your body temperature regulation.

While breastfeeding for an extended period could theoretically affect your body temperature slightly, it's unlikely to be the sole cause of a persistent low-grade fever.

Thank you. I just don't think the GP will pay me much attention so I don't know what to do.

It's not constant it's worse in the afternoon and usually is better in the evening at around 37.0 ...
