Morning everyone

As above, I’d be grateful for any recommendations for travel insurance companies who cover existing conditions please. DH and I have booked a holiday for Asia and now need to sort this fun bit out. Thank you.

Your local Maggie’s or Millan Centre will be able to give you a list.

Thanks, never thought of that. Just shows where my head is at just now.

I googled pre existing condition travel insurance. And came up with a few companies. I used 'Its so easy' a few times. Got a good deal this year with Tesco. (I've got MS though, not cancer)

I don't have cancer but do have a heart condition I have to cover. I use InsureWith

Be careful as I got a few far lower quotes but then realised it was because they had excluded my heart condition

Thanks all. I’ve had to declare some other conditions for a while now, but the first time cancer has joined in. Will check them all out and compare coverage.

None of the specialist insurance companies (for existing conditions) would cover me once I declared all my conditions and medications. However, barclays bank did. £22.50 per month and £160 per year to cover existing conditions. This includes 2 cancers

Most travel insurance companies use the same risk matrix software, so certain types of cancers were an immediate no until we used a broker that allowed us to tell them the subtype of cancer which was less risky for them...if you get turned down by a few it's likely they're using the same programme. The insurance was still a huge cost though

We used Good to Go travel insurance following a cancer diagnosis for DH.

I found InsuranceWith were excellent when I was undergoing cancer treatment and also with my husband's medical conditions.

Most companies will cover you, at a cost, as long as you are not awaiting a diagnosis. I have a very long list (12 I think)of pre-existing conditions as well as a history of cancer.
I've used Staysure who often come recommended. They are much more expensive than others. As others have said they all use the same two types of risk software.
Beware of tristpilot reviews because they only review the purchase experience never the claim process. It's very easy to make the purchase go smoothly. Obviously no-one wants to claim. Most insurance companies use the same handful of claims handlers (who all get appalling reviews). Can you tell I've spent a lot of time on this!
I used a travel insurance comparison on Quidco. I didn't take the cheapest companies as I've never heard of them but went with a big name. My current annual premium for a couple was £490
