Stupid title - cant think how else to phrase it!

What kind of places do you go to that dont charge for carers and what proof will I need? Have DLA letters of course - some kind of card would be handy wouldnt it!

Going away soon and they Sealife centre near, wondered about that kind of place.

Any info welcome, thanks

Not sure about sealife, but we used to get in to National Trust properties free with ds1.

UniversallyChallenged · 02/04/2008 22:07

What proof do you have to give of getting DLA?

They charged at sealife centre but a reduced rate, most of the big theme parks allow a carer free entry & the disabled child a reduced rate.
Some also offer a queue jumping system if the child cannot queue.
Trying to think of a few more, post the same on the sn board & i'm sure they will have loads more info.

whipsnade zoo, take letter of award, can get in free as acarer, or take car in for free.

some farm places allow carers in for free.

cinema do, but you need a card, ask on SN topic about that one.

I'm not an expert but dd1's best friend has SN (she's blind) and a carer gets in free with her to lots of places around here. We take her sometimes - theme parks, farm centres things like that, it seems to be generally accepted. No proof seems to be needed but the friend is quite clearly blind which is an easy SN to prove.

I just ask wherever we go on the off chance. I never take any proof (although we have a blue badge) but ds1 is severely autistic and quite obvious when he has to wait to pay or something.
