Hi,

I’m due to see the GP after doing a FIT test. A blue lid sample pot of bowel matter which I’m sure the doc said this tests your guts happiness and a coeliac screen. I was allowed these tests on being cleared of a gynae issue on the nhs.

Am I on a wild goose chase. I’m getting really threadbare, on Friday Feacal Occult blood test abnormal at 26 when the range should be 0-10 gets a mention, today Feacal Protectin content has appeared at 64 ug/g, slightly out of range.

I had a private scan recently which showed liver, gallbladder, both kidneys absolutely fine which is where I’m finding hope just that the fibroid the nhs said had gone was somehow back in right side whether it’s a new one as there is a discrepancy over the type and it getting ever so slightly bigger, no family history of IBD. Anal fissure in early adulthood which seems to have cleared and come back over the years.

Emptying my bowels nearly after each meal. Motions range. After b/o I can wipe away blood from vagina but honestly been told this is a fibroid / coil party trick. Uncomfortable feeling hard to describe feeling which mostly started as numbness and dragging in the tummy since late 2022 but I’m still here.

I’m really up against it in a new job. I can’t blame them if they let me go over all this.

So the FIT test is checking for trace amounts of blood in your stool, 26 is above the normal range so they will want to further investigate this. Have this given you a blood test? You will most likely end up with a colonoscopy or sigmoidoscopy due to the results of your stool samples.
