Extremely bloated from jet lag?

On Tuesday morning I returned back home to UK after long haul flight ( 7hrs)
Since yesterday I suffer from a really bad bloating, this what I think is from Jetlag and it also brought my period on.
It feels like extreme trapped wind all over my abdomen, top to lower part, at the back and all over even inside my bum!
I tried my usual stretching exercises which always helps immediately but it doesn’t this time and getting worse!
Anyone had anything like that?

Just to add I was absolutely fine before yesterday morning, no any issues during the flight etc..

It all started yesterday morning like bad period pains with cramping..
Sometimes the cramps feel like birth contractions, shooting strongly into my bum, make me scream in pain..

you probably need to speak to a real life HCP. It'd be a bit weird for the bloating to start 2 days after landing if it were cabin pressure related so it may well be something else.

I recently did 2 x 8r flights in 5 days. Never done one before. It flared my fibromyalgia and the pain, bloating and overall levels of feeling unwell lasted 2 bloody months! A lot of it was like severe period pains. I had a hysterectomy 25 years ago!

You have my sympathy. Rest and more rest tbh.

@Greybeardy i read that the real jetlag starts usually on day 2.

@StMarieforme well it was actually two 7 hrs flights- there and back in 5 days too.
The first flight was ok but I couldn’t sleep at all for those 5 days while I was away, hardly slept 2 hrs per night.

Sounds pretty unusual, I’d speak to a doctor if it doesn’t sort itself out.

7hrs isn’t particularly long and jet lag in itself isn’t known for causing bloating although long haul flights can cause some bloating which is why it’s important to watch what you eat when travelling and drink lots of water.

Your situation seems fairly extreme. Best to get it checked out

Just seen your update; I still think it’s unusual.

It sounds as if you’ve done a 5 day trip somewhere like the Middle East. That is fairly common and shouldn’t cause those issues. I’d expect you to be utterly exhausted with the lack of sleep you mention, but not bloated to the point of this level of discomfort
