my feet are disgusting

I have really bad chilblains so my toes are big and red and itchy, even underneath. My toes go purple when they are not red and the skin, which has been stretched by the chilblains, is all wrinkly and dry. It is nearly summer and there is no way I can expose my feet in this state!

What is wrong with me and what can I do about it?

no chilblains but hideous, hideous hooves here.

me too, cracked and pealing and I have a vile verucca on my right food that is risiting all attempts to shift it

I seem to have more dry, cracked, flaky bits than I have normal skin. It is only ok if I take a cheese grater to it every single day and immerse my feet in petroleum jelly twice a day. Not able to keep that up in the course of normal life. My skin everywhere isn't much better. Shall we stick with the paper bags? I have skin envy.

It's only my toes that are really disgusting. They are all swollen and itchy and because there are chilblains underneath some of my toes don't really touch the ground! The dry wrinkly bits go white, then the chilblains go red and the other bits are a nice bluey purple colour. Attractive. I will just have to keep my socks on all summer.

Mum gets terrible chilblains but on her legs not her feet they are caused by cold so it may be worth investing in some really good socks to keep you feet warm

Other tips here and here

Dry cracked feet think that is something we all suffer from in the winter. It is worth trying a moisturiser I uses one for feet from boots but have heard something like coco butter is good too. Put it on your feet a night with socks on for about two weeks it will normally help.

But if they are really bad it is worth getting them checked by a chiropodist/podiatrist and making sure your health is 100% as some medical conditions can cause foot problems.

My feet are horribly dry and cracked too. I have recently discovered Compeed (from Boots) which is really helping. Thick moisturiser specially for feet!

Flexitol - available from Boots etc. It really is miraculous stuff, slap it on your hooves every night and then wear a thin pair of socks to keep your bedlinen clean (it's quite greasy). You'll notice a difference within a week.

beans - have you talked to GP about chilblains? Do you have bad circulation?
