Implant or Bridge and when to have done ?

I have a dentist appointment next week (check up), and I am pretty certain he will tell me my root canal needs pulling.
I had an infection in it about 6 weeks ago, 3 lots of antibiotics. It settled down, but I can "feel" it again.

I have an NHS dentist ( very lucky) and am currently 4 months pregnant with a high-risk pregnancy.

The tooth is a top one to the side but just within my smile line.

I will need to do something as I don't think I can risk leaving it.

But would the dentist do that sort of work whilst I was pregnant?

Which would you go for ?

I've just had a tooth pulled and my dentist said it would be at least 3 months before it healed enough to think about a bridge/implant so depending on how pregnant you are waiting until you've had the baby might be better.

You cannot get an implant on the NHS. If you are going to have it done privately they will want to leave it a few months to make sure the infection has settled down .

If you are seeking NHS treatment you might get a bridge if you have no other teeth missing and your gums and teeth are in good condition but they will want to wait at least three months for the gum /bone to finish healing. However bear in mind that NHS treatment is there to secure health, not to improve looks , so depending on where tooth is you may not be offered a bridge on the NHS .
