What could a sore heel be?

I woke up last week with a sore heel.... it doesn't hurt when I rest it, but hurts when I walk on it. I haven't done anything that could have caused this I don't think.

Anyway, it feels like it's getting more painful. What should I do?

If it feels like treading on a stone, probably plantar fasciitis. Does it hurt during the first couple of steps particularly?

Plantar fasciitis or inferior nerve entrapment. Several other options too. See a podiatrist.

Plantar fasciitis. It's pretty tricky to get rid of, unfortunately. Avoid walking barefoot in the house, don't wear thin-soled shoes, do LOTS of calf/achilles stretches.

Yes! The first few steps are quite sore then it becomes bearable

Plantar fasciitis if its worse when you get up from sitting for a while, or in the morning. Are you on your feet a lot?

Yeah sounds like PF. Weirdly I got results within a week by NOT wearing shoes or slippers as much as possible which is against the advice. I did foot strengthening exercises and calf stretches and it went really quick.

Fluid builds overnight and walking disperses it so it becomes less painful as you stretch out the tendon.

Whatever you do, don't take painkillers and ignore it. It can get very very bad. Lots of calf stretches, proper supportive shoes preferably decent running trainers for a bit to allow the inflammation to calm down.

Slippers, ballet pumps, flip flops, shoes with no cushioning will aggravate it

All this. Wear trainers with a bit of a heel to toe drop even indoors for a bit.
Stretches. Stretch it before your first steps of the day.
There are insoles you can get too and they really helped me.

Sounds very much like PF. Definitely RICE as often as you can, and sit with your leg elevated when possible
Avoid high impact exercise (e.g running)
Wear supportive shoes with good support- no flip flops, high heels or thin soled flats
Do you work on your feet?
