How to heal a scrape?

Long story short I took a tumble yesterday and have a pretty nasty scrape and bruise on my leg. Right now I'm finding it hard to tell what's painful because of the skin and what's actually painful and needs looking at. At the moment I have sudocrem on it because I thought it would maybe help. It's just so sore to the touch and I want it gone. Had savlon on it all night and I'm not sure if that did anything

My go to is to spray the area with wound wash, and when dry lightly use germolene.
if it doesn’t quickly improve, or If it feels hot, red or weeps ask a pharmacist for more advice.

It's definitely better than yesterday it's just so sore and I feel like a toddler 😭

Germolene dual action has antiseptic and local anaesthetic, its a pretty handy home staple to have.

They used to advise leaving a wound open to heal, but when I had a cut recently they said the new thinking is to keep it clean and covered.

I had it open all of yesterday night to scab over, I really want a bath tonight but I'm worried it'll hurt 🤣

No worries. Just keep it clean, dry and covered. It will probably be sore for a while. If the Savlon or Germolene is irritating, you can just use petroleum jelly.
If it feels hot or oozes, or there are red lines extending from it, check in with 111 or the pharmacist.

It stung so I kept it out of the water 🤣 more concerned about the potential interior damage now to be honest

I'd stick with the sudocrem keep it clean and covered

Sudocrem is on and it's definitely making it feel less sore, it's just hard to tell if the pain is just the scrape or if it's inside my knee too
