Failed dental bridge

Had an extraction a few days ago on one of my top incisors (not the very front ones), but now the temporary bridge has broken and is extremely loose even though I've been really careful. With my dentist being shut until Monday, does anyone know if it's better to try to keep the bridge in place or just accept that it will fall out leaving the extraction site exposed?

You can call 111 about dental issues.
In addition, have you tried calling the dental practice? There may be a voicemail advising patients what to do for emergencies.

Should have added that I've already called my dentist and their recorded message advises to phone 111 if you have uncontrollable bleeding or swelling that's moving towards the eyes. Anything else should wait until Monday, which also ties in with the definition of a dental emergency on the NHS website. I've got no pain or swelling and very little bleeding - more just annoying that it's so loose that I can't eat solid food and I'm constantly feeling like it's about to fall out.

PS:

Didn't mean the voicemail would tell you what to do; just that there might be a covering dentist or dental nurse associated with the practice.

In my experience, it's better to try to keep the bridge in place until you can get in to the dentist. There are dental pastes that you can use:

Our messages crossed!
As I said above, I would think that it's better to try to keep the bridge in place.
I had an onlay that fell off, and I was advised to try to keep it in place until I got in to the DDS.

Thank you! Will give the temp fix kit a try.
