Hi can anyone recommend a paint on product from the chemist that actually gets rid of this?
I've been to the doctor but apparently it's not bad enough for tablets. I've tried the scholl one and nailner. They've helped but not enough...
Thanks

Have you tried a menthol rub e.g Vix? My friend swore by it, cheap so worth a try!

Hi OP.
Had one for years 😩nothing worked (I tried everything!) until I started applying castor oil to it, morning and night.
Gradually got rid of it over the course of a few weeks. Felt like a minor miracle and such a bloody relief!
It's great for your nails generally, but there's some sort of magic compound in it that completely cured me of the dreaded fungus and, thankfully, it hasn't been back since ✌
I bought a small bottle of organic cold-pressed castor oil from Amazon & it lasts ages. Still use it now for all sorts, great to have in the stock cupboard.
Worth a try!😁

I used concentrated tea tree cream on mine, day and night with filing/clipping. It was a pharmacist who suggested I try that instead of buying the expensive paint on stuff.

So the process is to use the paint on stuff as directed, but you then have to let the damaged toe nail grow out while still killing the fungus with the medication. It takes up to a year for this process so it's never going to be a quick fix. If you're patient and follow the instructions, it will work.

Bit scared of doing this but thanks

It took a while for the manky nail to grow out, but after about 3 weeks I could see the infected area shrinking under the nail, and it just didn't look 'active' (that delightful green tinge!) any more.
Was totally sceptical about it at first, but it really worked 😮
I'm a total castor oil convert now 🙌

Nailner made no difference to mine but the Boots Advanced has slowly but surely allowed the nail to grow back clear. The last Millimetres are just growing out.

You do have to be diligent and keep at it. At first it looks as if nothing is happening, but basically if it is not spreading, that’s good and you just have to wait for the good nail to grow through. Which takes ages.

I keep the nail really short, scrub under the nail and try and get the liquid underneath the nail as well as painting it on top.

Toenail Fungus sounds like a Dickens character.

Lamisil cream did the trick for mine a couple of years ago. It takes a while - you have to wait for the nail to grow out, but so long as you keep applying the cream it doesn't get any worse, and the new nail comes in healthy.

It says in the instructions it's not to be used for nail fungus - even though it contains terbinafine. Made me think if it contains terbinafine surely that must do something! Interesting it's worked for you.

Get the nail prepped first by a podiatrist. They need to remove most of the infected nail for you to have a chance of beating it.
