So I'm asking this question for a friend of mine. He use to live with me and my parents as a lodger. He has moved out about 3 years ago and since then we have started to see where our friendship/relationship can go. Anyway he is registered with our local GP. He has moved to far out to in theory stay with that GP because they don't cover that area. He has just been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and needs constant meds. Obviously because we still talk, him getting hospital letters etc isn't a problem but he wants to fill in a form to see if he can get help with health costs like prescriptions. I don't know what address he should use. If he uses his current one then that address will be different when he picks up his meds but he uses my address then isn't that a form of fraud if he is registered somewhere else?? Hope that all makes sense

It would only really be a problem if the address determined whether or not he paid for his meds, which it won’t.

I have UC. Prescriptions are issued by the hospital and sent to the GP to release. Basically, the hospital tells the GP you need the medication and the GP issues the prescription. Repeats are all done via the app. Prescriptions are collected from your nominated pharmacy. You don’t need to show ID for this.

However, if you are uncomfortable with him using your address, you need to tell him.

Ok thank you. So the HC1 form, help with health cost is ok to put his actual address on then? I feel uncomfortable only because I don't want me or my parents to get into trouble. Obviously I don't want him to either but it's his choice if he changes address

I am not familiar with that form. I pay for a prescription certificate every month, so probably best for someone else to help you with that.
