Hi. Well DD complained of an itchy head yesterday, check her head and saw little white bits, thought it was were daddy hadn't rinsed her hair properly the night before. Today checked again and actually saw a few lice so have treated it with headfin. I have also done my hair as feel quite itchy and think I have white bits and done baby's hair.

Should I be staying away from our friend's tomorrow? Any other advice? Thanks.

if you have all been treated then you should be fine you will need to retreat in 7 days incase any eggs have hatched. If you have been rounf your friends before you found lice then i would ring your friend to let them know you have found lice and for her to check her family members.

Hi,

No you shouldnt need to stay away from your friends. The headrin will have kill all live lice so there shouldnt be any more for a few days at least.

dont forget the repeat application btw.

So if I saw some live lice today will there still be more hatching over next few days?

They could be. They really don't like tea tree oil. You can wash and condition your hair in tea tree shampoo and conditioner or add a few drops to final rinse.

If you comb hair through with conditioner it should help getting rid of any unwanted debris. The conditioner also stops the lice of latching onto the hair shaft. Also, lice like clean hair better than unwashed hair so don't feel bad about it.

I found a live lice in my sons hair on sunday - managed to catch it and squash it between my fingernails washed his hair and put loads of conditioner on it and combed through with the nit comb - got loads of eggs out - did it again the following evening - and got no more eggs and i can't see anything else in his hair. Don't worry they are horrible things but kids get them
