Sorry I'm up late worrying and hoping someone can answer my questions.
My mum (62) is diabetic, but well controlled with insulin. She did have two brief hospitalisations whilst she had covid due to not being able to control her blood sugars as she was unable to eat for being sick. She was left with very slight damage to her lung seen on (I think) xray post-covid. She is overweight (likely obese), non drinker, non smoker.
Today she had what I am being told was a "small heart attack" and is in hospital. My dad is telling me that she is generally OK, but they are monitoring her over the next few days before deciding on placing a stent, or whether she needs bypass.
Is this a normal outcome after a "small" or mild heart attack? Or is he - as I suspect and would be typical - downplaying it so as not to worry me? The only experience I have of this sort of thing is with my friend who has heart failure, a triple bypass and now has a pacemaker fitted ðŸ˜
It's very common in my family to keep medical stuff on the down low so I don't know whether it's more serious than my dad is telling me 😢
Thank you to anyone who reads and/or responds
