Does this sound like Frozen Shoulder?

Please don't let it be Frozen Shoulder!😳

I have had pain in my left shoulder for about 3-4 months, maybe a little longer. I have osteoarthritis and don't always recognise what is 'ordinary' pain and what is something new.
I self-referred to our local physio department and was told it was my posture while reading, in bed particularly. So I needed to sit up straight and make sure I didn't slouch.
I did this and tried not to put too much pressure on my shoulder by carrying heavy shopping etc. Frozen shoulder was never mentioned, it was all focused on my posture.

I then became too poorly with a trapped nerve in my hip to get to physio, it's a long walk to the department.

My hip pain has eased but the shoulder pain is back with a vengeance. It's quite painful in the day but almost unbearable in the night.
I woke my wife up whimpering in my sleep last night.

I take dihydracodeine and Gabapentin so I don't think that I will need any more painkillers. ☺️ They don't touch this shoulder pain in the night at all.
I have referred myself to physio again but wondered if anyone with experience of frozen shoulder could offer any advice.

Should I see my GP? It's an excellent surgery and they are very supportive of my arthritis and any other issues.

Would people recommend seeing an osteopath while waiting for an appointment with NHS physiotherapy?

Any recommendations please?
Heat/cold?
Painkilling Gel/cream?

I have Googled Frozen Shoukder and feel so scared. My issues with Long Covid have affected my life so negatively that I can't bear facing up to another pain-filled issue.

I will also search MN for previous threads but I am feeling very down at heart today so I wanted to 'talk' to others about their experiences too.

Can you lift your arm straight up above your head?
Personally I would never see an osteopath. I paid to see a private physio while waiting for the NHS. It wasn't hugely expensive.
I saw a physio with painful shoulder and restricted movement. He said it was early stage of frozen shoulder and basically had me push it up as often as possible.
You have my sympathy as I have multiple health conditions and when yet another thing crops up it's so depressing. Why me, again.
However most things improve and you learn to manage them.

See your GP. There can be some conditions which present initially with shoulder pain but they’re nothing to do with the shoulder. They need ruling out.

I had intense shoulder pain and restricted movement on and off for years. I believed it was frozen shoulder but my GP and physio were not able to help. I got a private referral and it turned out to be calcific tendonitis which was very easily treated. Might be something to mention to a GP even if it's just to rule it out.

I’ve got one at the moment and I’m getting a steroid injection. It’s a slow recovery going the physio route. Go see your GP and in the meantime try to keep it mobile- google some basic exercises. Agree that it’s a pain at night and can be uncomfortable.

I had one that lasted the typical 18 months and was excruciatingly painful at first. But it wasn't painful for 18 months. I saw a private physio and had a distanced hands off NHS one as was during lockdown. The hands on one really helped. Stretched the shoulder joint into various positions (painful but it did give me more movement). Him doing it helped me push through the pain which it's harder to do on your own. Well, it is for me. So I'd recommend a session with a physio if you can. They'll give you exercises to do as well which did help.

I have one. It is painful if I try to lift my arm above 45 degrees or if I sleep on that side - otherwise it doesn’t hurt at all. If I don’t use it there is no pain
