Does anyone know what this might be?

Hi! I noticed this on my chest in the last 2 weeks or so. I went to a dermatologist on the 1st of Feb and it wasn't there then so I know it appeared sometime between then and roughly 2 weeks ago. A doctor, nurse and pharmacist have diagnosed it as a fungal infection but after 3 days the treatment doesn't seem to be doing anything! I'm worried about SCC since it feels like it's got a slight depression upon touch. It doesn't seemed to have grown in 2 weeks but has potentially gotten lighter. It's not itchy or sore but I have no idea what it could be... thank you from a very worried mama :(

I also think ringworm and you have to put the cream on for 2 or 3 weeks, I did when I had it.

I'm not sure...it doesn't have the classic "ring" as you would get from ringworm. It's been diagnosed as a fungal infection but it's a single patch and not itchy. I don't hang around when it comes to my skin but I'm going out of my mind as it doesn't seem to be changing after a few days of treatment...

Fungal stuff takes ages to get better, three days on an anti-fungal is nothing. It’s certainly not cured in the same timeframe as you’d expect from antibiotics, for example.

I'm just not convinced it's fungal though...I'm also worried about leaving it for 10 days in total (so another 6-7) incase it is something more sinister. Just seems strange to have a fungal infection on the chest (not somewhere typical for fungal infections from what I've read) and just have a single patch. I'm more curious to know if anyone recognises an ailment like this and/or has had a different diagnosis.

DH had something very similar-looking on his shin, it was diagnosed as some sort of fungal thing and he was given ointment to put on. It took around 9 months to get rid of it.

Oh wow! 9 months is a long time. How did it present? Single patch or all over?
