That will hopefully unblock my nose!

Depends on reason - virus - Vicks; allergies - Flixonase.

Sudafed nasal spray works well for me.

TheSlantedOwl · 24/02/2024 20:50

Otrivine. The nasal drops for kids worked brilliantly for DC so maybe the adult spray is just as good!

ssd · 24/02/2024 20:53

Thanks. Think its sinus pain too

Otrivine.

Although I usually have a runny nose which i use Actifed for.

BloodandGlitter · 24/02/2024 20:57

Sudafed blocked nose spray - brought it after it was recommended here and it absolutely does clear your nose and head out for ages too.

Latenightreader · 24/02/2024 21:04

Sterimar has helped my mother who has sinus issues.

SidekickSylvia · 24/02/2024 21:08

If you think you have sinus issues, please consider taking Sinutab or Sudafed tablets, rather than a nasal spray. It may take a few days (and a few uncomfortable nights), but whilst the sprays offer immediate relief, they can be addictive.

Steam inhaler with menthol crystals. I get sinusitis and find this is the best. I use a few times a day.
I can’t take Sudafed now as I am on heart tablets.

Echobelly · 24/02/2024 21:14

Otravine works brilliantly for me. It lasts a long time but try to use sparingly as it can just leave you blocked up over longer term if you overuse. But I've used it quite a lot abs never had that happen. I mostly use it at night.

Coronado2 · 24/02/2024 21:18

I recommend actifed tablets. Some of the sprays people have already said work well, but as another poster has said don't use them for too long or they actually make things worse.

helpfulperson · 24/02/2024 21:22

Otrivine, but agree about being careful about overuse.

underthelights · 24/02/2024 21:24

Saline nasal spray then a sinus rinse works for me.

ssd · 24/02/2024 21:28

I just bought otrivine for sinus and otrivine for blocked nose, i wasnt sure what to get. I'll be careful not to use too much. Thanks for all the advice folks!

Just hope i get a better sleep!

They are probably exactly the same but with different names. Just don't use for an extended period of time or you can get rebound congestion

milesmachine · 24/02/2024 22:41

Just be really really careful OP. My friend used the Sudafed spray for just a couple of days and then found it got worse again, so kept using. She didn't realise her body had become reliant on the spray in that short time

It got to the point she was using 2 sprays a week. She's just managed to wean herself off them but it's taken 2 months of horrendous sinuses

I've also read some horror story threads on here so make sure not to use more than you absolutely need to
