Implant after 10+ years - yes or no?

Looking for thoughts on this. I've got a new dentist who is insistent I replace my missing very back molar with an implant as not having it in place is causing issues (or will) like bone loss etc.

This will mean having a bone graft and is obviously a costly and long winded procedure but I am prepared to do it if it's worth it.

My hesitation is that the original tooth was removed as it was broken and at the time I didn't want the faff of a crown etc and it was right at the back. It was always an annoying tooth, a tight fit which was hard to floss etc.

Any opinions?

Having had, and am still having, horrendous issues after spending ££££’s on an implant, my advice would be not to.
Go and see another dentist and get a second opinion maybe? It’s not like you would be advised it’s a necessity if it was an nhs dentist, you are paying a private dentists mortgage at the end of the day.

Hmm, interesting. I've already got one implant I'm completely happy with. You are right, though, I will get a second opinion. Sorry to hear you've been going through it with yours.
