He has never even had a "lazy eye" before not even when tired. Woke up totally cross eyed on Friday morning. NHS Direct said to go to A&E to get it checked out, who kept him in for 12 hours to observe to ensure it was not being caused by any pressure from the brain - no scan but they seemed happy that it wasn't, he is totally healthy and happy in all other ways, eating, playing, not clumsy, still dexterous etc. Seems to be getting worse though, and DH and I are worried....any ideas?

contact GP as soon as you can and ask for referral to ete clinic.

dd3 had an eye test at under a year old, her eyes were totally straight, but optomologist said her axis meant she would develope a squint at sonme point. the actually squint appeared when she was almost 2years old.

Has her squint been corrected Misdee? If so how?

she wears glasses and with her glasses on you dont see the squint. there was a point last year when she was cross eyed even with her glasses on, so we patched for a while.

when she does take her glasses off its very noticable and she does seem to rub it more.
she is 3 years old now.

she just went for a nap one day, and woke up with a squint.

did you struggle to get her to wear the specs? Is there a history of squints in your family? My sister had one and had to wear glasses and have an operation....

dh had a squint as a child.

we both wear glasses now.

it was a PITA at first because as soon as i put them on her she would take them off. but she soon realised she could actually see with her glasses on (she has a really strong perscription).

there are pictures in my profile of her with her glasses on.
