Dental cavity in child- advice please

Feeling really sad today. My 7 year old daughter had a dental check up yesterday, and the dentist found a cavity in a baby tooth😞. We genuinely brush her teeth thoroughly twice a day (or so we thought). The dentist gave it a clean and popped a filling in, but some of the filling already seems to have come out. The dentist did say this can happen.
My daughter hasn’t experienced any pain, we didn’t even know it was there.
Is it possible that it might stay the same and not get worse until she naturally loses the tooth? We are going to drastically reduce sugar intake, and stopped and bought an electric toothbrush on the way home. If we keep the area very clean, can we prevent the cavity from worsening? I hate the thought that it might progress, and cause her pain at some point.

She has a recall appointment in 3 months.

Yes if you keep it clean it will stop it getting worse, is it in a difficult position to brush maybe? Have you phoned the dentist about the filling coming out? They can pop some more in usually?

It is in a slightly awkward position, in between two teeth and towards the back, so I'm going to be as vigilant as I can. I will phone the dentist today, thank you 😊
