Does anyone have any tips to deal with Insomnia, it's driving me mad. I don't drink tea or coffee in the evening just water. I normally go to bed about 12.00 as I don't need so much sleep but will lay there for 2 hours before I drop off. Also waking during the night and then awake at 7.30.

I found listening to sleep meditation on the Calm app helpful for half an hour before I normally went to bed helped me. It took practice but I'm now able to get to a calm place in my head before sleep and sleep solidly.

I suffered for almost 30 years with anxiety induced insomnia; where I used to panic about not sleeping which of course stopped me sleeping. But meditation using the app seems to have almost cured me! I also read The Untethered Soul which helped my mindset too.

Hope this helps. I wish I'd discovered them sooner!

Thanks Getting I will look into that. That's exactly what I do. I stay up and am really tired and then in bed start thinking and then working out how long it will take to drop off.

I listen to a story on audible. Michael Palin’s travelogues are good. They help me sleep and it doesn’t matter if you miss a bit cos you nod off. I would say don’t drink any caffeine after lunch. I don’t even drink decaf coffee after breakfast. Also, keep off phone and tablet for at least half an hour before you go to bed. DD says she watches a movie on her tablet and that sends her off to sleep.
