Just that really? If you take vitamins or supplements to help with your general health what do you take daily?

I take vitamin D, B12, folic acid, hair multivitamin, biotin, and collagen daily. Helps with everything I need.

Wow great to know! I'm also anaemic so doctor prescribes me the iron tablets. Also I take multi vitamins, cod liver oil, turmeric tablets. I should start vitamin c and d/b12 but if I'm taking the multi vitamin do I need to take it separately as well?

None and I haven’t been ill since I stopped. I focus on building gut health as the immune response starts in the gut.

i used to take loads but I think we should be eating our vitamins in fruit and veg rather than taking unregulated, untested vitamins.

The problem is that nutrition in fruit and veg isn't as it used to be.
Faster growing and lots of travel, storage mean that it's less nutritionally rich than it was lets say 50 years ago.

I take a cheap supermarket multi vit containing D, Bs and iron. Cannot get enough vitamin D through the winter in the UK. Try to remeber to take from Sept- May ( don't bother in the summer).

AutumnCrow · 13/02/2024 05:17

I'm on prescribed folic acid 5mg for megaloblastic anaemia.

I'm also not allowed out in the sunlight for medical reasons so need Vit D.

Try as I might, I don't eat well (disordered eating from auto-immune illness) so the supplements are medically helpful. They're not even that expensive now, these days.

daffodilandtulip · 13/02/2024 08:13

Vitamin D
Iron
Magnesium
Cod liver oil
Vitamin C

A perimenopause supplement

And I keep echinacea in to take when the kids have germs and I hardly ever end up catching anything.

I sometimes think why am I taking these, they can't make that much difference, I feel fine, then stop taking them every day ... and then I feel awful for days and it takes me ages to get back on track. Especially the perimenopause ones, which I was sceptical about! So yes, they work.

Glucosamine, Vitamin B and Vitamin D.
I have a pretty healthy diet but thought these might help with old age.

Sobbingteen · 13/02/2024 08:19

I take vitamins c and d after catching lots of colds last winter. It seems to have done the trick and - touch wood - I've not had a cold this autumn/winter at all.

2chocolateoranges · 13/02/2024 08:25

I don’t take any vitamins at all.

i do have vitamin C in the cupboard but forget to take it.

catwithflowers · 13/02/2024 08:25

Fish oil
B complex
Vit D

May start Vit C as well

shearwater2 · 13/02/2024 10:27

I take Floradix, mainly for the iron, particularly as I give blood twice a year if I can and the iron level is often borderline for donation. It also has B6 and B12. I eat a good diet but keep the calories down so may be missing out. When I remember, I take a tiny Vitamin D tablet at this time of year.

Artemis6 · 13/02/2024 13:09

Glucosamine
Turmeric
Omega 369

PeppyC · 13/02/2024 15:05

I take omega 3 oil once a week as I don’t eat oily fish.
This winter I’ve started taking 10ug Vit D and I have to say, I’ve felt better since I have done so.

flutterby1 · 14/02/2024 14:21
