Anyone have this? I'm pretty sure I do, but I've not had any big flare ups for years. Now I've had two big flare ups in the last month. This one is horrendous, been going on since Sunday and I cannot sleep at all because I just constantly feel like I'm desperate to wee, even though I am not!

Any tips? What are your main triggers? What helps? Anything that I can do right now to get some sleep?

Not officially diagnosed but I think I have this too. I thought was UTI but samples came back clear. No tips as it’s all new to me but just some sympathy being sent your way.

I tried Azo urinary pain relief after seeing it recommended on a thread on here. It was brilliant for me. Relieved the pain which lessened the need to go so often. Doesn't cure an infection so if you have one you do need to be treated. And do your sample before you take this because it really does change the colour of your urine. Berocca has got nothing on this stuff!

I have the test strips at home, and definitely don't have an infection. I've actually started taking marshmallow root capsules, as these worked for me in the past. They seems to have started calming things down a lot and I only went to the toilet once in the night! Thank goodness!!

How old are you OP?

I was diagnosed with this by a urologist but I actually had an embedded uti. The dipstick and culture tests are know to be inaccurate. This is common knowledge as it is actually on the NHS website. I am now symptom free having been treated for the embedded uti.

I have IC, had it since I was 10 (diagnosed at 19) and now 34. My main symptom was always burning and I've been taken marshmallow root for years which has changed my life. I take d-mannose too and I've only had about 4 actual UTIs in the last 15 years since diagnosis.

I think mine is hormonal as funnily enough, pregnancy and breastfeeding seemed to cure it. Once I stopped bf my symptoms came back in the run up to ovulation each month so it must be something to do with oestrogen levels for me personally.

It's funny you should say that as I was just thinking myself that I haven't had it since before I had my first child... well I've been either pregnant or breastfeeding since then, until now! It does seem to be related to hormones as both recent flare ups have been in my luteal phase. Hoping the marshmallow root does the trick for me 🤞🏻

Mine came back nine years after a two year flare. Getting pregnant fixed me so must be hormones for me. I'm now taking estrogen pessaries which seems to be working. Fingers crossed
