Hey! Does anyone get really dry mouth that wakes them up during the night? And you wake up in a panic. Any insight please as I'm so nervous.

You're probably sleeping with your mouth open or snoring. Atey you on any medication that can make you dry sometimes? I use a gel before bed which helps.

Edl · 03/02/2024 01:00

No I don't take medication. My mouth feels like a paste.

Yes before I started using the gel,it was horrible.

I wake up to wee since the menopause plus a very dry mouth yes. Chew gum in the day and drink plenty of water. Loathe to take creams or Hrt as I get side effects badly.

I'm the same , try the mouth gel though,it's not hormone based just artificial saliva.

Unfortunately those products all contain mint and it would mean I could not use homoeopathy at home for minor ailments.

No, the one I use doesn't,it's unflavoured.

Augustus40 · 03/02/2024 13:10

I double checked the ingredients. Unfortunately it has aqua in it which is something minty.

It is a right pain. Have been caught out with toothpaste too. Aroma is another ingredient I avoid. So hard searching for the right stuff!

Thanks anyway.

Augustus40 · 03/02/2024 13:46

I think it may be worth trying it for me. It seems aqua is merely water lol. Cheers.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 03/02/2024 13:49

I also use homeopathy and have done for 30 years but have only ever even told not to take mint an hour before /after taking remedies not never.

With the gel,I clean my teeth then squirt it on my tongue and move it around my mouth. I keep it by my bed just in case but since using it I haven't needed a night time top up. Hope it works for you ,it's made such a difference to me.

Madeupballs · 03/02/2024 13:54

@Augustus40 Aqua means water. It’s water, not mint!

Madeupballs · 03/02/2024 13:54

Ah I see you’ve seen it. Good luck, it works.

Augustus40 · 03/02/2024 14:31

Cheers ladies. The dry mouth in the night drives me bonkers!

This message was written from my brother who is experiencing this. Can it be something serious or just anxiety ? He gets it at random times.

I doubt it's serious, drink more water and try the gel.

thatwasclose · 12/02/2024 11:06

It can be a common side effect of diabetes.

Hi, have just purchased the TePe gel on your recommendation having suffered with a dry mouth at night for over a year. But I cannot find anywhere that states the product is tooth friendly as I am worried about putting anything on my gums and teeth after cleaning my teeth before bed. Do you have any information on this?

MKass · 08/08/2024 03:25

Hello All, how are you getting on with this? Because I have the same problem. I am 28 weeks pregnant and I woke up with sudden dry mouth after covid 4 weeks ago. It is driving me crazy as I am almost not able at all to sleep. I have the gel and the spray and I drink plenty of water but it's not working that well. My mouth gets dry nonetheless and I find the feel of the gel unpleasant. I am really worried about not sleeping, for my health and for the baby but also because I need to be able to operate during the day of course (go to work etc). This is making it impossible. Can those of you who found a way to manage it explain how you do it please? Thanks, MKass
