Bradycardia from dieting?

I've been on a weight loss journey for a year or so.
One thing I've noticed is my resting heart rate goes down by about 10bpm average when I'm in a calorie deficit. I've stopped and started a few times over the last year or so and I've found this pattern to be quite consistent. Lying in bed my heart rate is 53bpm. I do occasional jogs but I'm not that fit and this is definitely related to periods of calorie deficit.
I'm eating about 1320 net calories a day. I walk a lot so in reality I'm eating1600-1800 calories a day of food and it's generally very nutritionally balanced.
It seems to be the deficit that does it rather than not eating enough.
I don't feel any light headedness or anything with it. I actually feel quite relaxed and pretty good. I probably wouldn't really even have noticed but I started using the Fitbit a few years ago.

Has anyone else noticed this? My mother has always been bradycardic without symptoms and she's always been much more slight than I.

Yes, I get exactly the same. Also the inverse, if I eat a large, carb heavy meal in the evening or drink alcohol I get a spike. Nothing major either way, just enough to be interesting

Yes I'm exactly the same! Alcohol will give me a good solid 10bpm spike for the whole next day. Big meals too.

Reassuring! Crazy how we know so little about physiology.

I'm the same. My resting heart rate is definitely linked to my calorie intake. I can tell by my heart rate if I am going to lose weight that week. It was quite a surprise when I realised the connection.

I had an operation last November. The ups and downs of my recovery have also been mirrored in my resting heart rate. I'm still not fully back to normal and it is still higher than it was pre op.

It fascinates me and I find it a useful indicator of where I'm at.
