Breast Cancer? Or am I being silly?

Thanks for taking the time to read, just a bit worried!

My breasts have been hurting on & off for a few months and increasingly getting worse in my nipples and they've gotten more red, sometimes hot to touch and itchy other times not.
At first I thought the dreaded pregnancy but I have an implant and a test ruled it out, lately I've also been waking up being sick & having headaches in my neck/head alongside my breasts hurting.

Breast cancer history in both my grandmothers. There doesn't seem to be any lumps but my breasts are more veiny should I be asking for them to do a test to rule it out?
I'm only 32 so a bit freaked out! My grandmothers didn't develop breast cancer till mid 40s and late 70s.

Get this checked out immediately. Go to the GP and explain your concerns. Don't let them fob you off - insist upon a mammogram. It's mostly likely to be nothing, but it's really not worth the risk of waiting. Catching breast cancer EARLY is crucial. Please book an appointment for Monday.

Also - a family history of breast cancer increases the likelihood that you'll develop it too (regardless of the age they were diagnosed). Make sure you mention this in your GP appointment

The chances are it’s not anything to worry about but it’s still important to get it checked out especially if there is a family history. The GP should take it seriously and should refer you to the breast clinic.

I started having bad breast pain in 30s and cutting out tea makes a huge difference, also taking evening primrose oil. I found tracking my cycle and symptoms to be reassuring; but I’d do those things alongside going to your GP rather than holding off getting medical advice.

Thanks for telling me I'm not being stupid, been worried about it for a while but don't want to be fobbed off by the GP.
I'll book an appointment and hopefully they can refer me even just to put my mind at rest.

Some of the symptoms sound like thrush but definitely get it checked out to rule everything out.

You're not being silly at all, those are symptoms of breast cancer which affects 1 in 7 women in the UK. Most likely, the mammogram will put your mind at ease. Take care x

How long have you had the implant? It can cause these symptoms

Edited

Two years. Had another before that for 3 years. I don't get periods on it so can't track any symptoms.

Really hoping it's just the implant playing tricks!

What symptoms sound like thrush apart from an itch?

Garman · 28/01/2024 22:53

@TraitorsGate pain in the breasts can be a symptom, as well as nipple pain and nipples that are red/itchy etc.

MeMyBooksAndMyCats · 28/01/2024 23:17

It's the whole breast that's red & itchy sorry for not being clear. Blush
I think I'm just going to make an appointment in the morning and see what the GP or nurse suggests as it's driving me mad.

I think you should get checked out asap. BC is incredibly common now and the sooner you are checked, the quicker you will have peace of mind.

Your symptoms have been ongoing; it's a no brainer, see your GP.

Best of luck 😊
