Is there a bug going round? DD has vertigo today. A friend had to go to docs with it yesterday.

DD lying on her bed. Can’t move without room spinning no temp. Shall I take her to A and E?

This sounds, like vertigo alright, It's horrible. My best tip is for her is to prop herself up in bed and keep her head as still as possible.
I've got prescription meds for when l get an attack of vertigo (prochlorperazine tablets) and they do help, but best to speak to your GP.

Could be labyrinthitis. Vertigo is the worst. Can prob call GP and poss get some stemetil.

Phone 111 at the weekend. Or you can buy travel sickness meds from the pharmacist which will help. I've had labyrinthitis following an URTI recently. Basically all the congestion went into my ears! Before seeing GP pharmacist told me to try decongestant as well as the Buccastem. It's hideous and has taken me weeks to recover. I'm still getting the odd bout of vertigo when moving over 3 weeks on but that's a major improvement over lying in the middle of a king-size bed and being worried I'd fall off as it was spinning so much!

A friend recently has such bad vertigo when they were at Heathrow that they had to miss their flight and were taken to A&E in an ambulance instead. Turns out they had Covid.

Thankyou. We got some meds in the end.

I know this is a little while ago now but can I ask what meds you got? I'm suffering at the moment and not sure what to take.

It was like a travel sickness tablet. Can’t remember what one. Old school travel sickness tablets can be bought otc. Hope you get sorted.

Pharmacist gave me Buccastem which is prochlorperazine. They're not quite as strong as the prochlorperazine on prescription but definitely helped while I waited to see GP.

I get vertigo at this time of year as part of hay fever, I had a day of it last week. I find drinking lots of water helps as dehydration makes it much worse. I get motion sickness so if I start throwing up then the dehydration gets worse which makes me more dizzy and more sick and it can spiral.

As previously suggested, sitting propped up works better than lying down as she can at least eat, drink and watch tv/tablet without moving her head.
