Weird tooth pain - possibly since being out in the cold for too long?

I'm not sure what's caused it but I'm having strange tooth symptoms. No swelling, bleeding or redness but insane sensitivity of the teeth to hot/cold or lightly touching the base of the tooth in specific places. Like if I touch one very specific part of the base of one of my teeth I get a nerve pain. This is affecting several of my teeth at once. I've never had anything like this before and it started about 2 days ago.
Incisors are worst affected but generally seems to be all over. Today I took a spoon of soup and got an electric shock like sensation in one of my incisors.

Anyone ever had anything like this? All my googling is saying pulpitis but I get regular dental check ups and no caries. Last exam with xray was under 5 months ago.

Not sure if I should be worried.

I'm a dental nurse op and it does sound like pulpitus to me. You need to go see your dentist asap really.

There may be a fracture in the tooth or caries that were hidden by a restoration, the only way you will know is to properly discuss it with a dentist and have them take a look.

Sorry I responded to this but it seems to have disappeared!
I just don't understand how I could get sudden pulpitis all over my mouth. It's affecting random teeth all over my mouth all of a sudden. It's not just one tooth and it's not even all in one area. No trauma, and I've had no dental work. I've never even had a filling!

Sometimes you can have referred pain as the nerves branch off and they can find it hard to tell where the pain is coming from. If its all over your mouth rather than in one quadrant / side though maybe you are clenching and grinding them and have bruised them if you are especially stressed? You might have some recession and sensitivity - it's been quite cold recently so that might be contributing. Your upper teeth can ache sometimes if you have a sinus infection also. Response to heat rather than just cold can be an indication of more problematic issues but without a dentist looking at the teeth it's hard to say. Are you due your next check up soon? If so you could see about pulling this forward a month?

I personally think any pain is worth getting checked as whilst it hopefully isn't an issue, if it is an issue you really want to stop it progressing.
