diarrhoea in 4week old FF baby, when to worry?

panicky first time mum here but im getting worried about my 4 week old ds. he was on sma gold but it was making him really windy and he was getting really distressed and screaming at every feed and was eating less and less, going from 25oz a day to 16oz, so i switched him to aptamil on monday night.

now he is starting to slightly increase his milk intake and enjoys his feeds more but has had two bouts of diarrhoea and is still really windy, would the change in formula do this? is two bouts of diarrhoea in two days anything to really worry about? some one please reassure me, tomorrow's the last chance to get to the gp until tuesday.

actually, my mum noticed a tiny white patch on his top gum and said he might be teething, but i thought "what rubbish, he's only a few weeks old". i'll keep an eye on it now though.

thanks for the reassurance, he seems perfectly fine apart from the diarrhoea and windypops, ill give it untill tue to improve then i will defo go to the gp.

ach if it happens again, go to the doc's tomorrow, where's the harm? my doc told me that they want to see babies under 6 months if anything out of the ordinary happens, basically.
there's no medical evidence whatsoever for a link between bad nappies and teething, it's just what people (especially grandmothers) say. most likely it's the aptamil, tbh. but if it's still happening tomorrow i'd ring for an appointment, better safe than sorry over the long weekend.

i'll show you mine if you show me yours. top govt dental adviser told me australian study was bunk.
however, as to whether i think dd had stinkier nappies when she was teething, well, that may be another matter. i just said there wasn't evidence. what i understand is that babies get a lot of tummy disturbances and little illnesses designed to build up immunity etc and historically it's been much more comforting to say 'it's teething' than 'you just have to wear it, this is going to happen a lot'.
