Bundle branch block ecg

Does anyone else have a bundle branch block? I had an ecg recently due to palpitations and it came up with this condition. The GP says its very subtle and that its just classed as a 'normal variant'. They dont seem concerned at all but I have health anxiety and I do worry. Any doctors out there that would like to reassure me?

It could be nothing or it could be significant. You need a full workup to really know for sure, then annual monitoring. I have no idea what your GP means by "subtle". There is rate dependent LBBB which only shows up when your heart rate hits a certain threshold and there's partial and full block but subtle sounds vague. Basically you need an ECHO, 7 day ECG, Coronary CT scan with calcium score and a Coronary MRI. After that if all clear then an annual ECHO and a 7 day halter. Your GP should be concerned as the number 1 cause of LBBB is cardiovascular disease. My guess is that you're young enough that they assume it's idopathic which is a possiblity (some people just have it) or they will try and string you along long enough because they know it opens up a can of worms and the cascade effect of testing. The NHS is terrible like this, really doesn't like to catch things early, instead of seeing the LBBB as an early warning sign of something they could manage instead of ignoring it and pushing the problem further down the line where it becomes bigger and more expensive. Drives me crazy. Push for a proper work up with a cardiophysiologist. Mine was most likely cause by high BP in pregnancy but so far nothing definitive has been found, and the number one piece of advice is don't drive yourself crazy trying to find a cause because you may never find out.

If it’s right bundle branch block it’s usually insignificant.. but you should be refered to a cardiologist for a heart scan as a matter of course .
I was diagnosed with it in 2015 but an angiogram showed no abnormality with my heart and I was told not to worry

Sorry didn't realise you didn't stipulate left or right bundle branch block. Left is more serious. Definately need a thorough work up. Right is less significant but I don't have experience of it.

Thanks. The GP said mine was right bundle branch block and that he wasn't concerned at all. I asked to be referred for a heart scan and he basically refused and said I didn't need it. What worries me is that I get palpitations almost daily and have done on and of for years. But from what I've read this isn't even a symptom of bbb.

Sorry to hear how stingy your GP is being. Indeed left bbb is more serious than right but still an echo is a bit of a nothing really, a 20 minute ultrasound. There are affordable private options now with echo packages, not fair I know but still for peace of mind.
