MIL's dog licked baby, is this ringworm?

Furious with my MIL as she allows her dog to lick babies face constantly and since he's come out with this rash..

I'm slightly concerned he's got ringworm?

Any idea if my suspicions could be correct?

It is normally quite round so there's one patch that could be it (the small one on the left). I'm not medical but I've had it a few times myself.

More likely to be something else. She really should not let the dog lick him - I have a dog myself and there is no way I would let the dog lick a baby (or anyone preferably!).

Ringworm is quite defined. See a GP and get baby checked out. Make mil come to your house without her dog. How disgusting to let her dog lick a vulnerable baby!

No, it doesn't look like ringworm, which is circular hence the name. Have a quick Google to put your mind at rest regarding that.

I discovered one of my kids was allergic to dog saliva when he was licked by a dog, he had hives on his face. How quickly did the rash come up?

It would be obvious if the dog had ringworm I think? Does your Mil have ringworm ? She would def have it if her dog does as its pretty contagious .

Thanks everyone !! I made it so clear I find it disgusting and she let the dog lick his face multiple times and I'm not happy at all tbh

I will go to the pharmacy tomorrow to see what they say and to the GP if they aren't sure

Good to know it's unlikely to be ringworm

I don’t think it’s ringworm but a dog’s tongue is quite rough and it might be causing irritation.

The dog shouldn’t be left alone with the baby or allowed to lick it. I have a dog and he’s lovely and I allowed him to look at my baby and possibly lick a hand or a foot (which was wiped🤣) but not on the face.

It looks more like eczema, very similar to DDs at the moment. Half the kids at nursery have it, I think it's a combination of the cold weather, dummies and licking their lips/always seeming to have wet faces!!

@Missingmyusername lol! Thank you
Yeah he wasn't left alone he was sat on the floor with MIL and the dog came up and she let her lick his face

Our dog loves to lick his toes lol but as you say I clean them afterwards

@OdeToBarney thank you x I will go to the GP tomorrow to get something for him as looks sore x
