Hi so I have been having issues with tachycardia and high resting heart rate for a few months after a virus/ likely covid. I was admitted for a night and had a chest ct incase of pe. Heartrate is still high though not quite as high - not as constantly high. I'm tired constantly, feel run down, nauseous, weight loss, palpitations come and go.

I did have a 24 ecg and the letter from it states that it showed sinus tachycardia and I was referred for a further cardiology appointment. I felt unwell over the weekend and when I looked at my fitbit it showed hr at 51 (I was watching TV in bed) its never that low so I checked the app which showed it had spiked at 214 (it's never been this high) before plummetting to 51 where it stayed for about 15 mins before returned to the 90s.
Gp still isn't happy and has writteb another referral but also asked me to phone and check on the status of the appointment - I did this and was told they are working through a backlog of appts and it could be another 4 years! I can't afford to go private. I'm early 30s never smoked blood pressure is low usually healthy and active and this has floored me. I do have b12 deficiency and get injections every 3 months. Anyone have any experience? Is it possible it's still post viral /long covid? Any tips on improving things?

@tokesqueen that sound a very like mine. Eating has it sitting at around 120, literally a walk with my 2 year old has it at 140 etc.
When I've been at the hospital for it they sent me home when it was around 110. Said probably still post viral. That was a couple months ago. I've only gone back to gp since then as I really don't want to sit in A&E for hours to just be told to get used to it and go home as its in sinus rhythm.
Im struggling to function and cnt work right now because of it but going private unfortunately isn't an option

@CrunchyCarrot I've attached it
Though when I had it done at gp a month ago my tsh was 0.6 that was November time I think it's now 2.24 which seems like a big difference but either way both are normal range

It is quite a big difference and it's not only TSH but also FT4 which has dropped a fair bit. FT3 isn't ideal, a bit low. Both antibodies are low so that's good.

You did have Covid and that could be behind what's going on, we do know Covid affects the heart. I also wonder whether the low ferritin is caused by what's going on, rather than having a role in causing it, if you see what I mean.

Might be worth doing a private cardiology consultation, after all having to wait 4 years with those symptoms ongoing, and not having any idea what is causing the problems, isn't very satisfactory.
