DD suffers from car sickness on longer journeys. No ideas so far on how to help. A friend mentioned a travel sick bracelet thingie, has anyone used something like this? Do they work?
TIA

I used these for my ds, they are fab. It also helps if you don't pump them full of food/liquid before setting of, as my mil has learned several times over . The wrist bands have a plastic button that pushes on to a particular part of the wrist. Expensive but drug free.

Think they can have joy-rides (tablets!) from age three.

If she can see the road ahead it may help. Higher car seat. Take her mind off it - singing, car spotting, exciting conversation.

Plan routes to involve least amounts of curving roads and corners.

Take a bucket and lots of wipes...

Sing with her. Get her to sing out loud. This helps to regulate the breathing and prevents hyperventilation, which makes the nausea worse.

And give her plain, dryish biscuits/crackers/rice cakes to nibble. Dole them out in bitefuls, as she's probably too young to regulate how she eats and only nibble. Every so often give her a few sips of water - she must never gulp, only drink little dribbles. The idea is to settle her stomach, not fill it.
