This has been going on for quite a few years. I've been really unwell with it and have lost everything important in my life due to feeling so unwell. Symptoms are getting worse. GP no help.....say it's probably anxiety.

Has anyone ever had this, seen anything like this, know what it could be?? So far blood and stool tests are not showing anything.

I'm losing the will to live. And I mean that literally.

Please help me...

Could be bile acid malabsorption?

missingyears · 04/01/2024 22:17

Yakut = biokult

How often is it happening per day? Is there urgency or it’s just when you go, it looks like that?
Is it straight after eating? Does it smell offensive?
Don’t expect you to answer all that, but I’d write it all down, everything including how depressed you feel about it, what the pharmacist said and bloody insist on the tests mentioned here, pay privately if you can. It sounds debilitating!

missingyears · 04/01/2024 22:18

@Myridiculousstomach maybe. .... I like your username

@LongDarkTeatime no antibiotics, but I did have some treatment for an infection that I picked up on holiday (an intestinal parasite)....but that's all sorted now and two parasite stool tests since then have been negative.

I might try the Yakut though (if there is a dairy free version)

Yakiult has a far lower concentration of the bacteria required to make a significant difference.
Edit: sorry, cross posted 🙂

It might sound counter productive but have you tried having linseed every day. It softens the stools which would stop the constipation. It is good you have not loss weight. A friend who worked for cancer research said that is the biggest red flag for them. Worrying about it can definitely cause you to feel tired and despondent. Is there no possibility of getting a same day appt at the dr if you phone early or is there an on line consultation option where you could send a photo?

missingyears · 04/01/2024 22:27

@Vinrouge4 I should be able to get a face to face appointment within the next week.....it will just require phoning the surgery and begging/pleading with the receptionist. I will find the energy.

Thank you for all of the suggestions and support here. I'm going to go to bed now and hopefully wake up more positive tomorrow and try again with the Gp. Thank you folks, it's much appreciated xxx

Could be hpylori, you can also have negative bloods for coeliacs. It’s rare, but it does happen.

alpenguin · 04/01/2024 22:34

Do you still have your gallbladder?

I know someone who had theirs removed for gallstones and had poo problems for years afterwards and now they have to take a medication that helps with bile absorption and miraculously no more weird poo.

Tatumm · 04/01/2024 22:37

I’m not a doctor but that looks like fat in your stool. I’m pleased you’re finding the energy to follow up. Good luck and please brief and take along a friend for support if you feel it might help. If it’s the same doctor you end up seeing, you may need to be very clear and firm about what you want.

Oopsididitagaintomorrow · 04/01/2024 22:52

I'm taking Orlistat which makes your poop look very oily as you are getting rid of fat. If you are not taking anything (not read thread sorry), my non-medical brain would say it could possibly be fat malapsorption. If I eat too much fatty food with Orlistat that is exactly what my poo looks like with the fatty waste

Like I say, I'm only going by what the info sheet says and what my poo looks like x

Ipadannie · 04/01/2024 22:55

I'm having ongoing tummy issues too. Frankly it's awful.
Have a look at SIBO and also like someone said BAM. There are some great supportive Facebook groups if you think either are a possibility.

thedementedelf · 04/01/2024 22:59

Have you been tested for shigella?

Thecatmaster · 04/01/2024 23:15

Lactose intolerant? That does it to me every time. Started in my 40s.

Clarinetiu · 04/01/2024 23:25

this happened to me. I found out I was allergic to sls (a chemical ingredient) that does things like that to me.
