Several issues to discuss with the gp, which order do I address them in

One problem one appointment type scenario

HRT new HRT prescribed in the summer isn't quite right so I'd like to go back to the old version

Think my thyroid medication is too low and I'd like to try a higher dose (on 25 levothyroxine since mid Nov)

Feel like shit, no energy, so tired prob a flare up of post Covid or Fibromyalgia or CFS - can anything be done? & God-awful/new bowel/ibs symptoms

That's the order I'm thinking about, I should have addressed them all by the end of January I guess - but is the thyroid more important I just thought the hrt easier

Tell them upfront there are 3 issues and give them the headlines at the beginning of the appointment.

If the issue is giving the receptionist a reason for the appointment then say areview of current medication and some additional symptoms ?

I’d go with the “I feel rubbish and I don’t know if it’s my thyroid, my HRT or something else” and take it from there.

I bloody hate appointments, I'd much rather type them an email and then follow it up

I'll try a combined approach

Cant you book two or three appointment slots together so there is enough time to discuss all the issues at the same time?

CrazyDaisy0 · 02/01/2024 17:33

My GP advises if you have more than one issue then you should let them know and book concurrent appts. It’s prob worth checking if yours is the same? 10/15 mins does actually pass quickly!

No double appts are not a thing really

My GP specifically asked me to book two slots sometimes

Oh if the gp says to have a double I can but I can't book a double, well I can't book an appt just a phone call, but one phone call one problem

I wanted to book 2 appointments for 2 separate things the receptionist just booked 2 back to back. I'm sure it can still be done.

Does it have to be a phone call? I have serious issues with the phone call thing as I can't answer my phone at work and they always ignore my request to be contacted another way. So I still have to have face to face appointments.

I chickened out of rining and did an online consultation

I wrote them an essay, everything!

They are ringing on Monday
