It was Johnson Baby shampoo. She got a whole mouthful and swallowed some.

It made her cough and retch alot. I sloushed her mouth clear and she was a bit sick. Then she had a bottle and went to bed.

Problem is that I can still hear her coughing away. Do you think her chest was just irritated by the earlier coughing fit, or might there be a chemical in the shampoo that is making her wheeze?

Should I get her out of bed?

Does it say on the back of the bottle, "If swallowed,...."? Sometimes they do.

Is she allergic to lots of stuff generally? Or asthmatic?

artichokes · 15/03/2008 19:33

Oh dear, maybe I should have sought medical advice. The thing is I have never, ever found NHS the slightlest bit helpful.

Have just been up and given her more milk. If that doesn't help I will call me Paeditrician friend (a last resort as she may soon have grounds to sue me for harassment ).

Sorry MrsDepp, didn't see you there. She has a severe cows milk allergy but no as asthma (touch wood). No helpful advice on bottle.

Then I probably wouldn't be overly concerned, check the Johnson's website maybe? Or do they have a helpline? I bet they must get asked this pretty often!

Asked about asthma/allergies, cause I have both, imagine I'd have quite an irritated chest after getting a mouthful of shampoo. Probably the perfume... Getting rid of the taste/smell might well help so hopefully the milk will sort her out.
