Hi everyone. I noticed this on my 6 year olds lip this morning. I didn’t see it last night while brushing teeth and she stated it’s definitely not itchy, burny, sore or tingly and I have watched her all day and she hasn’t been fussed by it or even touched it. She’s never had a coldsore before but me and my husband had one in august and she never got one from us then so aren’t sure where she’d get one from now but worried this is one. Panicking because we have a 10 week old baby and our 6yo kissed her this morning before I noticed this on her lip. We’ve had the cold and coughs for the last week and she had a temperature on Friday but was fine by Saturday. If not a coldsore what else could this be? It’s on lip and not the inside of the mouth. (Area of concern Circled in blue)

Looks like one to me I'm afraid.

Without any burning or tingling or it being sore??

Looks like an ulcer to me. Bitten their lip? Eaten anything too hot? I don't think it's a CS. You'll soon see if it crusts or vanishes.

Looks more like a mouth ulcer. It's on the inside of the mouth whereas cold sores usually appear on the lips or face.

I'd say an ulcer

It’s visible when the mouth is shut would that not be the outside of the lip? I think it looks like an ulcer too and because no tingly I was thinking this tok but just worried

Hi OP, I am pretty sure that's a canker sore, also called an aphthous ulcer. It's thankfully completely different to a cold sore so hopefully you can stop worrying. Google it and see what you think.

I unfortunately get cold sores frequently and your dd's lip doesn't look anything like them.
