Help me get rid of my baby belly!

Please help me! DD is 9 months and I still have a jelly belly. I could do with losing a bit of weight all over, about a stone, but not too bad in general, but I'm not used to this belly. Before having DD I held all my weight on my hips and thighs, a typical pear shape but now I have much less of a waist.

I know I need to eat more healthily and i am still bfing so that might keep some of the weight on.

As for exercise my problem is that dh doesn't get home from work till 6.30 and the it is a scramble to cook, eat and get dd in bed but 7.30/8. if we left it later to eat we wouldn't eat till at least 8.30. i would happily do home dvds or have one of those mini trampolines but i live in an old 1st floor flat. i tried a nell mcandrew dvd once and the neighbours complained i was making their windows rattle

i need some motivation, inspiration and...um perspiration?

Buy twist disc and do 100 twists three times a day to whittle your waist.

Go power walking with your pram to lose fat.

Stop finding excuses why you cant do exercise and think how you can

twist disc

I sympathise the belly bit is particularly difficult to shift, since all those muscles have been so stretched.

I do abs stuff everyday and its still not shifting quickly!

Haven't tried that twisty thing though.

Bf does ime keep on at least a bit, say half a stone for me. People on here really rate pilates which I think its pretty gentle on your floors.

Oh dont worry I speak as someone who constantly thinks of reasons NOT to exercise - in fact the only thing that gets me going is that I know my trainer is at the gym waiting for me and will be on my back if I miss a session.

It was a couple of years before I realised that if I had just got up and moved around a bit instead of sitting on my bum thinking about ways to well, get up and move around a bit, then my belly would have gone down far quicker than it has done

Something about a big white arse (I think) not sure of the details. I've only vaguely heard about it as a mnet legend. I do have a big white arse but I am not The Big White Arse!

I can't afford to join a gym unfortunately. It would be great to go to one with a creche. When the evenings get lighter I will be able to go out running. I would happily do a DVD but I can't do the jumping around bit.

I used to do ashtanga yoga twice a week but it's 5-6 and DH doesn't get home in time.

no answers but lots of sympathy - i am a pear, too, and though I've lost all but half a stone of the baby weight, my tummy is four inches bigger than it used to be!! I'm sure it's the bf - my feeling is that it's just not my body shape to retain the weight around my middle and while my knockers are big (good), my tummy will remain likewise (bad). The only consolation is that my tum doesn't look as big as the boobs help cancel it out...

Mind you, I've been sat in bed all day eating After Eights and cheese, so that may also have something to do with my mummy tummy. Sigh. But I need something nice when I've suffered yet another waking-every-hour-night...

Best o luck, you'll get there eventually. xx

bumper, might your local leisure centre have a creche? Ours does and it's free. I still haven't got off my arse and done anything about my saggy tum though. I'm also 9 months in.

I am currently avoiding the 'expecting again' comments by hiding in smock tops but what will I do when the wheel of fashion turns against me?

BumperliciousIsStillNotDressed · 15/03/2008 17:00

Our local leisure centre has closed down due to last year's floods
