Changes in sight

I had a full eye check 2 years ago due to a migraine with aura and they said everything was fine with me. I have myopia but under 2 diopters so it's not so bad.
In the past months I noticed my sight got worse, especially my left eye. I work 9 hours a day with a computer, I got new tasks at work that demand a lot (Excel, numbers, etc) and I end up with headaches every day. I'm 44 so I understand we start to get new sight problems to read from a close distance, etc... but it worries me the fact that with my left eye I can't see far away, mid distance or from a close distance. If I cover my right eye, I see the computer screen blurry!! I need to go to check my eyes but I'm terrified. I've never been worried about my sight until now. Can myopia get worse at my age?

You could have developed astigmatism if it’s at all vision ranges. See your optician for an eye test. You should have one every 1-2 years as they recommend anyway.

You need to go for an eye test. My eyes have deteriorated with age, am 45 now and -3.5 and need reading glasses. Starting to think about varifocals.

And yes myopia can get worse.

If it was just your myopia getting worse, you would still have clear vision close up without your glasses on. So sounds like it's a bit more involved.

Yes, if you're getting headaches and your vision is blurred you definitely need an eye exam asap and they'll sort out the issue.

How do your eyes feel generally? Are they uncomfortable and gritty or do they produce lots of gunge.
I wear variofocals and for several weeks before my last routine appointment I was experiencing problems very similar to yours and was expecting my optician to tell me that I needed a stronger prescription.
He didnt but he did discover problems with my corneas and tear ducts which two separate courses of antibiotic drops didn’t cure. I was referred to an ophthalmologist and after a 4 week course of steroid drops I am now having to use lubricating drops at least 6 times each day and a different type of drops before bed.
My vision is now better than it was 6 months ago but I can’t help thinking that I might have contributed to the corneal damage because over the years I chose to ignore advice from opticians that I needed to use lubricating drops because my eyes were very dry - up until recently they had felt fine and I didn’t think drops were necessary.
None of this might be relevant to OP but it’s worth telling just in case her blurry eyes are as a result of dry eyes. Close work at a computer 9 hours a day probably wont be helping either.

Yes, your eyesight can change at any age.

I'm -1.25 and -2.75, but I've noticed my right eye vision is definitely worsening. I've got a test booked for January.

The same eye went from -2.50 to -2.75 last year and I'm 42. It's obviously progressing!

Thanks for all the replies! I booked an appointment at once.
I do have dry eyes so better check in case there is something worse going on.
